THE STORY BEHIND THE PRINT...   

Each of my ‘Little Chinese Windows’ depicts a curated vignette of objects arranged as a still life image with image details layered over the top.

In this instance I have photographed an old biscuit tin which came all the way from Beijing to add to my collection. I absolutely love the vibrant colours of the metallic emerald green with the Chinese red/orange of the goldfish. For this design I added several layers of extra embroidered fish, photos taken from some vintage Chinese fabric which came all the way from a shop in Barcelona, Spain! The white air bubbles are actually photographed little white carved wooden beads from China.
